Before you start
- The asset in the Media pool. Imported or generated, image or video. Point at it with
@or by name. - Credits. Upscaling is cheap for images and short clips and adds up on long video. The agent shows the cost and asks for approval before it runs, unless image-upscale or video-upscale is set to auto-approve in Settings → Agent → Permissions.
- Any plan. No upscaling model carries the pro badge. Your export resolution is still capped by your plan (720p on Free, 1080p on Creator, 4K on Pro), so upscaling beyond that only helps if you also export at that size.
- Time. Video upscaling takes several minutes on longer clips.
When to upscale, and when not to
- Upscale when composition, motion and content are right and only sharpness or pixel count is lacking.
- Regenerate when hands, faces, text or artifacts are wrong. Upscaling enlarges defects; it doesn’t fix them.
- For AI-generated stills, consider regenerating at a larger native size first (Gemini 3 Pro and the Seedream models go to 4K). For generated clips, Veo 3 Fast can render 1080p directly.
Ask the agent
/model; image upscaling and video upscaling each have their own section in the picker.

Where the result lands and what to do next
- The upscaled version is a new asset in the Media pool with the target resolution in its name (for example an upscaled 1080p copy of a clip). The original stays untouched.
- By default the agent adds the new asset to the timeline. Say “replace the clip” and it swaps the upscaled version into the original’s place, keeping the cut. Say “library only” to keep it in the Media pool.
- Image upscale and Video upscale job cards show progress in the chat.
- Then export at the matching Resolution in the Export dialog.
